Born and raised in Alaska, Joe Lewis taught high school English in Hokkaido, Japan before moving to New York City to pursue acting. Recommendations and luck (or maybe fate and guardian angels) led him to the William Esper Studio. He initially had great difficulty, but nurtured by his teachers and classmates there, he found that was where he was meant to be. At the William Esper Studio not only did he develop as an actor, but grew as a person. Currently enjoying making independent films, he dreams of one day playing the Marvel character Moon Knight in a film either written by or heavily influenced by the work of Charlie Huston.
